Hi guys,

I have a number of Padial devices as well as modified Konami SCC PCBs that I would like to house in nice cartridge cases. I don't like to use newer cases with latches, because they break so easily. Some of the older Konami games are in the cartridges that are easy to disassemble, just unscrew two bits and you're done!

So, can you please contribute with the name of the Sony/Konami MSX games that are housed in reusable cartridge housing?

From all my games I found only Konami Video Hustler and Sony Lode Runner are reusable.

Yep, I used audiotape cases and a lot of epoxy glue works perfect

I ordered a package at a local diy store to make a silicone mould, so I can try to make my own cartridjes, I found a lot of sites that descibes this proces for prototyping.
I'm planning to copy the housing of a FM-Pac cause it's bigger then a normal cartridge but still small and slimm.

I don't have any experience with this, so hopefully on a short notice I will know if this works well.

Maybe you can buy some empty Moonsound/GFX9000 casings from Sunrise. They look great and almost anything fits in there.

I just bought 10 cases from sunrise...for a very good price. They have the same dimensions as any konami game.
It's also cheaper then buying old games for reuse.
And ofcourse no need to butcher original games.

i think if its possible i, would also go for the sunrise housings.

and like said, somethimes you see none wanted cartridges, but when you need them for the housing.
some how, the price are higher at that moment, so at the end not cheap.

sometimes a sony cartridges goes for 2 euro, and the other day the same goes for 15 euros.

Can you share the sites and/or your experiences with us? Will you be casting under normal atmosphere or will you try something to lower the pressure in your mould to reduce air-traps in the part?

I heard small details like the screw-holes are often formed using nails/ or other metal inserts in the silicone. These details get too fragile if made from silicone only.
