Did you know that MAME can play the arcade version of Salamander, Nemesis1 and now also Parodius? Of course you have to own the original arcade machine to get the roms.. If you want to play the arcade version of Gradius II (Vulcan Venture) you still need sparcade. The arcade version of Salamander II isn't emulated yet.
Gradius websites
Gradius/Nemesis, Salamander and Parodius. Most of us played one of these Konami shooters on their machine. If you have the chance, try to play them on different platforms. And notice the differences in game play, graphics and sound. Some people even devoted their homepages to them.
Konami history
Did you know that Konami made "Frogger"? Read about it in the article "the History of Konami" at the Gamespot website: video.gamespot.com/features/universal/konami/78-81.html
Falcom screensavers
I found some Falcom screensavers for MS-Windows9X/NT4. You'll find them here: www.falcom.com/download/ssaver/index.html. But, you need to put an extra file in your /windows/system/ or /wnt/system/ directory if you are using a non-Japanese version of MS-Windows9X/NT4.
XSW magazine
Time for some new links and for some serious html debugging on these pages. Mari van den Broek from the Dutch MSX magazine "XSW-Magazine" pointed me to these html-faults. Thanks Mari! XSW-Magazine is also a great Dutch MSX magazine. Why don't you check out their website too at www.xsw-msx.demon.nl/.
Improve emulation!
I just got an idea for the makers of MSX-Emulators (WIN9X). Ever thought of programming the possibility for optimized palettes, real-time bilinear or trilinear filtering through the Direct3d function SetTextureQuality(D3DRMTEXTURE_LINEAR) or maybe SetRenderState(D3DANTIALIAS_SORTINDEPENDENT, TRUE)?
Keep MSX alive!
Have you ever thought about what you can do for keeping the MSX system alive as good as possible? Well, if you're Dutch, you can become a member of the great Dutch magazine MSX-Info for only Fl. 10,-- a year.
X68000 emulator
Ever heard of the X68000 home computer system? Konami and other Japanese game-companies made some great games for this Japanese home computer. Download the PC Pentium emulator and some great games (Salamander, Nemesis, Bubble Bobble etc.etc.) from: www.emulatronia.com/reportajes/x68000/x68000.htm.
