From the looks of it, this year's edition of MSXdev is going to bring us an exceptional amount of brand new MSX1 games! Less than a month into the competition, the second completed entry has already been submitted.

In only 1 kilobyte, Michel d'Alger has created an MSX remake of Tom Arnold's Robots.

IMS player for MoonSound

Shortly after the IMS Player for FM-PAC, the active Korean MSX developer Sharksym also released an IMS player for MoonSound. This version supports custom sound banks and needs about 256kB or RAM in order to be able to play a 100kB IMS file.

WORP3 has released a new firmware for the MIDI-PAC. This hardware extension allows you to connect a MIDI synthesizer to an MSX and play music intended for MSX-MUSIC (simultaneously, if desired) on the synth.

On November 11th, 2011 we started a new megapoll called the Ultimate MSX Game Character Battle Brawl. To a simple question, namely "which MSX character would win a one-on-one fighting tournament", we received no less than 296 nominees.

The previously announced sequel to RELEVO Videogames' MSXdev'08 entry La Corona Encantada is featured in Retromaniac, a Spanish glossy-like retro gaming magazine.

A new entry has just been announced, commodorejohn is working on Radish Sabre. This game is destined to become an action adventure game in 128KB, requiring 64KB RAM. That's about all there is to say, other than - according to the sticker - support for SCC and FM-PAC.
