In the Catapult, I would like the individual disk/ROM folders to be 'remembered' separately. Is that possible? Would make a world of difference in hassle. Cheers.

catapult is dead and is on it's last legs. It'll be replaced by the OSD GUI eventually (or a new catapult... we're still not sure)
It's also possible that one day we'll do a real GUI for openMSX, but for now, you'll either have to use Catapult, or the built-in OSD menu (use the MENU key of your keyboard to activate it). This menu has been given some new features lately, because of the Android excitement.
About the feature request: I understand what you mean, but I think it's a pretty rare case... I think many people would actually be disappointed if we would implement it (they'd think the remembering doesn't work when they start to use slot or drive B...).
What do you think about that?
If you still want such a feature, I could do a hack on the OSD menu to implement it, just for you. It's not very hard to create. (I will not program it in Catapult, because that code is a complete mess which hasn't been touched in over 5 years...)

What I think about that? That I have to seek for polite words to point out that those complaints would be total bullshit. Oh, oops.
A "pretty rare case"?!? I get annoyed every time that I load a disk in openMSX, then want to mount a ROM, and the file menu is still in the folder where I keep my disks, and vice versa. This happens a lot when using openMSX normally, and it's one of the things that keeps me from using it when I just want to play games or music (or test TriloTracker, or whatever).
If people go through the trouble of using two disk drives, I can't imagine that they'll be bothered by openMSX remembering the folder where they keep their disks in drive A?
I have to agree with John on this one. It's pretty common practice to remember the last used folder for each separate file browse function.

This is a little unpractical indeed...

what he said
Ah, I thought you meant have a separate dir remember for drive A and drive B. The behaviour you desire is implemented already in the OSD menu. Can you try that?
John? Is it an option for you to use the OSD menu? (Open with the MENU key on your keyboard, usually left of your RIGHT CTRL key.)
Yes, that actually is an excellent solution to my 'problem'.
Great! I hope you like the OSD menu. Any comments are most welcome. I'm willing to extend it to your needs
