After this nice thanksgiving gift, time for another one : dink, you have now access to extra forums on the blueMSX website
mars2000, thanks!
Nice to see active development in BlueMSX, the enhancements are much appreciated.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Hi there, happy Thanksgiving and thanks for the encouraging words
Since we're on a new page - there is a thanksgiving update edition of BlueMSX released earlier today, and its at the end of page 2, so don't miss it!
Thanks dink for your efforts, much appreciated!
I recently played Jailbreak (also from Infinite) on BlueMSX, and I believe I experienced that save-state bug - the car would always accelerate, like if the spacebar was always pressed (played it with keyboard). Steering with the cursors worked fine though.
Just did a quick test, seems to work alright!
Btw; back then I Google'd for this, and came across this message/question from Edwin:
Is the Jailbreak-continued-copy-vdp-bug also included in the fixes?
(See http://www.msx.org/news/emulation/en/bluemsx-283-beta)
Don't know what that bug implies exactly, could it be the same as 'ARTRAGs VDP command engine bug'?
I remember when I played Jailbreak, I sometimes got a black screen after loading a save-state (not sure if it occured directly after loading a save-state, but I believe it was related..)
Well, thanks again, and good night! ;-)
(And happy Thanksgiving guys, I don't celebrate that myself, but hey! ;))
Hi ren, I appreciate your comments All of Infinite's games were affected by the savestate bug, and it was Edwin himself that wrote a little joystick debugger program which helped me to realize which registers he was using to fix the problem - what a great guy!
I can't really comment on the VDP bug(s) yet, because I havn't started investigating that part yet. Though the good news is that Jailbreak plays flawlessly with the thanksgiving update of BlueMSX using savestates now. (lets hope it stays that way)
best regards & happy gaming,
- dink
This new update is very good, I like very much BlueMSX, please continue suporting the emulator. With no doubt is the best user friendly emulator and very powerfull.
I like to run a MSX2+ or TurboR at 21mhz, very cool. Try to play Wec Lemans (the Ocean version) at 10mhz, the game turns very playable.
have you tried if it pasess the test with this demo for msx TR ?

The demo, at start up, tests the flags in the mul instruction in r800 mode

tonigalvez, Of course I've been talking with mars2000you, and there should be a full release sometime near the end of this year, if everything works out. But honestly, I think BlueMSX is at the point of near-perfection, what more can be done or fixed? Maybe we can dream up something?
Thanks for the tip with WEC Lemans, the game is actually playable now
ARTRAG, the bots demo loads & functions OK with the latest blueMSX, this is listed in the changes, prior to my work:
"- fixed bug in the R800 mul instruction"
"- fixed ARTRAGs VDP command engine bug"
I wandered around the scene and came to a strange robot-type figure, who seems to be offline, very cool
best regards,
- dink
Yes, it passes this test. Actually, it has been fixed one year ago, but for other reasons, version 2.9 was not released.
However, with the code available on Sourceforge, everyone was (and is still) in the situation to compile his 'own' blueMSX, that's what dink has made before implementing new improvements/bugfixes. By surfing on the net, I've even seen a Korean website about compiling blueMSX and including screenshots of some new features related to Direct3D support.
