good morning, I was looking a bit at my z380, and I was wondering, how many are there? Who on msx.org have one?
I have never thought how many Leonardo Padial sold.
Thank you so much.

My best guess is that maybe around 20 were made... but yes indeed... I have one.

I notice the Padial Z380 wiki page is absent. It would be worth adding!

I'm curious.
How this external processor interfaces with the system ?

There was a Dutch description in MSX Info Blad 15.

I was away from the MSX scene when this existed, I missed it. (currently busy with a Z380 board to replace a Z80 - at least that is the idea -)

That is a very cool project lintweaker! I think it would be great for most usecases, most DOS2 stuff will be quite sped up by the improvements in Z80 processing speed and most games that use VDP for timing would work without issue (CPU would just be finished earlier) and could even benefit like many of the turbo patches already did for current MSX’s (reducing slow downs). All this at “normal” 3.57Mhz. Are you planning/considering 2x or even 4x clock speeds?

I was thinking Z380 would be cool to add to e.g. a revised MSX Omega design.

Nice read. It could work as a cartridge, internal Z80 replacement and as a stand-alone computer.

@Grauw, thanks for the magazine link. There is very few info around about Padial Z380.

My 'old' v1 board for testing:

I also have a v1.1 which was already able to boot into MSX1 without issue but the onboard CPLD decided to be no longer programmable. Need to fix that. I'll start up a new thread once it's working again.

Z380 + SymbOS seems a very nice combination for a brand new MSX3 Smile

I don't know if that's the case with this project, but I'm dreaming about a cartridge that would, in effect, replace the Z80 with a Z380. All software (and BIOS) would be executed through the Z380.

Not sure if it could be done, though, because I don't think the standard cartridge interface is capable of doing that.
