Hi guys.

Finally my fourth MSX game, Mecha-9, is finished and ready to debut in the 48RU MSX user's meeting, December 5 at Barcelona, Spain. Smile

Afterwards it will be available from http://www.matranet.net/

Here is a video of the game in action.

Enjoy it! B-)

No, the right side is fixed. Only the left 24 colums are updated. The TMS9918 doesn't provide any hardware scroll support.

O_O
I thought the scroll is only for MSX2.
How did the wild puzzeling of the gras fit in vram? does it really scroll like that on MSX1?

The Colecovision uses the same video chip than MSX1.

Here you go https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JDVVi95PIYQ

I've created a level editor that passes thru a scroll "calculator" that generates all bitmaps needed ready to be used for the game, so only the patterns are changed back in each scroll pass (24 rows by 24 columns, 576 bytes).

Besides in vertical scrolling you can have all colour detail as required.

Ok, MSX1 version scrolls Big smile

But, you really only write 576 bytes nametable?
scroll 2 pixel per frame, then you got 64 tiles.
I always wonder about the green level with gras, that fits in 64 tiles?
