Yes, it definitely is! And therefore also very expensive if you are looking for an original complete copy.
For a good overview especially on the games music I advise to listen to this episode of the podcast "Pixelated Audio":

For me one of the best PSG-only soundtracks.
There seems to be an english translation available:

The game is good, but based on the energy system and the hidden items in blocks, it's one you need to play a bit before it clicks. The first time I tried it, I was disappointed and thought it was overrated. I stuck with it a bit and my view turned more positive.
I love Mr Ghost!
Hey, thank you all!
The translation does have a nasty bug where the intro will crash on a Carnivore2. Do the translation authors know about it? What's a good way to reach them?
Dankcomputing: does the regular version crash on a Carnivore2? I will pass on the report.
The untranslated version doesn't. Curiously the translation will crash in BlueMSX as well, it just has to cycle through the attract mode a few times.
@dankcomputing welcome to the forum! How exactly are you running the translated ROM on the Carnivore 2?
I'm running it myself on my turboR GT via SofaRun and it works fine.
The translation has several patches. Which did you apply? (Which is the sha1sum of the patched ROM file?)
Oh, I did see something weird once in the intro: when the ghost is scrolling up, this is aborted halfway and then the title screen shows. But when I kept watching, the next few times it didn't happen and the image with text below was fully shown. I hope I didn't imagine this
EDIT: Just saw it again! It is as if someone pushed a key. When it happens, the intro screen is shown immediately, without the bouncing logo text. I didn't touch the MSX at all, of course.

So, the issue happens on real Turbo R? What kind of FLASH CART do you play it with?
