Can't we simply port the Flock browser to MSX? It does all these things in one program.
Shouldn't be too difficult - it is open source.

If I'm not mistaken Flock is based on the Mozilla Firefox engine (webkit)... I think that It might be a little bit difficult to fit all that stuff in 64kb of RAM

Since when is Firefox webkit-based? AFAIK Firefox is Gecko-based.. (Contrary to Safari and Chrome/Chromium, which are indeed Webkit-based.)

Could be that I haven't kept up with the last changes though.. anyone got a link if I'm mistaken?

You are correct, Gecko and Webkit are separate engines. And I obviously forgot a smiley or two in my post above

Nonetheless, a general framework on MSX to communicate with such protocols would be extremely cool. Also HTML should become ever easier for MSX to understand, now that table-free layouts and a switch to CSS are becoming the norm. Displaying text-only stuff with only some structural/semantic markup translated in styling (header levels and lists, perhaps colours, but no positioning and stuff). It would need a pre-processor to compress and get rid of all unsupported junk though.

Sorry, yesterday I wrote that text in hurry: yes you are right, Firefox is based on Gecko and Safari on Webkit.
