You can check this video for a demonstration (enable subtitles).

cool. Really like your "PSG jam video"!

Thanks! It was fun to make :).

  • If you want to lower the volume a bit, enable the tone generator and set it to period 0 or 1, the inaudibly quick oscillation of the tone generator will halve the amplitude.

I guess you can also double the amplitude by wasting another channel, but hard to imagine it being very useful.

Yeah, I think the envelope is more likely to be too loud than too soft.

In trilo tracker: quick and dirty test fake lowpass filter https://www.dropbox.com/s/q7cvc8ze7nsl6xm/PSG%20fake%20lowpa...

just playing around with HW envelope values and noise frequencies.
a bit rough around the edges

Works perfectly on both my ancient phone as well as on my deteriorated PC. Maybe check your settings. Smile

Nice effect syn Smile. I presume the effect only works on white noise. How does it involve the HW envelope?

I dont know why the link doesnt work, its a shared file in dropbox.

Some context: The bassdrum was done using HW envelop. I just played around with the settings/values So it is possible to sort of fake a percieved volume change or filter. Works fine for percussive hits but I dont think this can work for melodic sounds, because the tone/frequency changes due to the envelope rates used

The snaredrum doesnt use hw envelops. i just made 8 different snaredrums each with different noise frequencies. Adjusted the volume a bit to try match the bassdrums. In reality i think this is not a practical method for than 1 sound because we only have 31 available instruments definitions in Trilotracker. Ofcourse if you code something yourself this is fine.
