Now I tried to boot SVI728 and Sony Hitbit-75P with this cartridge only (no cable connected to external unit). The boot hangs in both machines in start screen:
I used 27C256 rom filled with original disk rom copied twice. pin A14 is connected to +5V via 10K ohm resistor.
It seems in toshiba HX34, when disconnecting FDD cable, the machine does not boot (hangs after MSX2 logo, screen turns blue). So I have to test with the external unit.
Yes, with drive unit also connected, the floppy now seems to work with this cartridge design.
Now the problem is where to get the 34 pin round cable? Or would 18 pins be enough?
Wow nice it works!
Round floppy cable, there are loads on ebay, with a choice of different colours.
But are those ebay cables one to one mapping, or those 10,12,14,16 pins swapped? As i need cable that is not swapped.
The cable that is for 2 drives, one of them is a straight connection.
I think i will try to make the cable from scsi cable.
