It works as disk drive.
But, its operation is little different from usual ide interface.

MMC manager allocates disk area in MMC.
Disk area is not limited by size.
360KB, 720KB, 1.44MB, 2.88MB, 11.2MB, etc are possible.
But, current MMC manager handles 2DD disk(720KB).
Disk IO routines recognize disk by Begenning address(MMC) of 0 sector.

Any combination is possible like below when 256MB MMC is used:
50 disks of 1DD(360KB) +
100 disks of 2DD(720KB) +
20 disks of HD(2.88MB) +
5 disks of HD(11.2MB) + ...

Very interesting! Is this interface also capable of handling with sector-based copyprotections? Can I, for example, create disk images of my XAK3 disks and run it from MMC?

Is there a way of creating the MMC interface without destroying a valuable and extremely cool SCC cartridge?

XAK series works fine.
and FireHawk works too, that make similar problem

But MMC Drive has memory problem.
Most msx2/2+ has FDD.
When I use MMC drive for Disk game,
I must press CTRL key in most case.

Because of this problem, KOEI games doesn't works.
I don't know that internal FDD can be disabled.

You may not modify Konami SCC cartridge.
MMC Disk routines require 8KB banking.
(4000H~5FFFF, 6000H~7FFFF)

If you don't need internal FlashROM disk,
banking circuit can be built easily.

I was also sad,when I destroy case of Nemesis3. T-T
But, it is useful for MGSEL, MetalGear2 disk ver., etc ^^

When SHIFT key is pressed, it disable all diskrom...

can u use this mmc drive also with a msx computer (like nms 8020, 8220 or hb-f9p and othe rmsx computer without diskdrive? without drive, u dont need diskcontrollerinterface or diskbasic?

Hi Sharksym,

Can I send you a SCC cartridge and some $$$ to get my own MMC floppy disk emulator? I have a loose japanese Metal Gear 2 cartridge, and it's useless without the box and instructions!
