Just went through some old boxes and found my old packet radio modem again. Back in the mid ninetees I used it with my old 486dx2 MS-Dos machine. But my thought went to a combination of MSX and packet radio.... this time Smile I know some people who are active on this forum did have a CB packet radio modem back in the past. I don't think there is any packet radio activity in the sky anymore, but it's always nice to keep old technology alive.

What client software is available for MSX and was in case of a BBS the same software used as with a conventional BBS?

I don't know if there is any software for MSX.. but if you already found something let me know.. Because it would be nice to send some data into the ether using an MSX ..
I used also packet radio in the mid ninetees using an old dos station.. I have the hardware (baycon modem) and transmitter somewhere here Wink

What kind of modem do you have? If you have a TNC, i think a simple terminal program should be enough.

W76NearDark?

You have to ask the PD-man before the clubday, because he does not take everthing to the meeting.

Nice to see this. What about the combination of MSX and HF radio, like the Yaesu FT-817ND or the 818? The only "but" is that you need a HAM radio license to do that. There is also free band radio like the 27 MHz (CB/Citizen Band), and the 446 MHz (PMR/ Personal Mobile Radio). No license needed to use and operate.

You could think about make a relais network. Or something like an emergency network, because HAM radio always work if GSM/mobile is down and other communications like the internet. In case of war, etc, etc. So then you have a working MSX & HAM radio. Tongue
