LVA510 is probably dying. Needs a replacement.
Alexy I think you might be right. Any idea where i can obtain a replacement ?
I've ordered a TMS-RGB with 9 pin DIN for my HX-10 so I will see what can be done. AFAIK there are no instructions specifically for the HX-10. The interesting part is that the 9 pin mini din is usually used for the Megadrive 2 and you can get a RAD2X HDMI connector for that so not only could it be clearer but HDMI compatible for the future.
TMS-RGB with 9-pin mini din has arrived today so I need to do some research about connecting it but hopefully I can write up instructions by the end of the month.

Or from AliExpress/Ebay. I haven't seen it elsewhere. And from China it's better to order 2-3 so that at least one could be usable...

Thanks, Can you go into further detail on the LVA510 chip for me ? OR link me to a site that does. Its a video chip ? Is it RF or Composite or does it do both ? Why does the rf work but composite not work ? :/
Either your TV does not have a composite video input in scart, or you have not correctly selected the AV signal from your TV. You should have at least sound if you selected the correct AV signal.
Also, if you bought the same cable as I indicated, there is a switch. What position did you put it in?

You have hit the bulls eye mate. I had the damn thing the wrong way round. Not only did i have the audio and video RCA jacks the wrong way about but i had the scart in the wrong scart socket and the wrong channel selected too boot . Just dont ask OK. 0_0 I know , I know, This is what you have to deal with though its only now n then I live with it EVERY DAY
SOOOO ive got the Composite - SCART working. BUT the damn text and general sharpness is still an issue. Its like the brightness is turned way up and the contrast is really bad. The text is just really REALLY bright and blurry. Its like HDR Bloom Effects its that bad . Ive ordered a few LVA510 Chips on the off-chance that will solve the issue. From china ofc so no guarantees. Ive learned that the CAPS are Nichicon ? and supposedly a good brand but might that be a problem ? Tired Caps ?
Have you tried different TV settings ? (brightness, luminosity, sharpness, ...)
I hope that I did not indicate a cable of too poor quality. Many Chinese cables are very bad. I bought a Chinese composite video cable, then another for a Super Famicom (ebay & another shop). The picture was pretty bad. So, I bought a used Japanese cable. It was thicker and the image was much better.
Chinese cables don't have any shield and the video one isn't thicker.
The TV was a giveaway junker that i got with a stuck dvd inside it. Ive accessed the 'Menu' and there are no brightness , sharpness or luminosity controls. Its a POS. It might be the TV itself :/ But its all ive got atm. The cables will have to do for now also as i don't have any spare cash either :/ Hopefully the LVA510 chips will resolve the problem. Anyne know what socket i need to buy for those chips ?
I don't think the LVA510 is the cause. Can you show us the image you get?
Poor picture can be caused by TV, cable, solders or capacitors for example.
A lot of cheap LCD TVs and Upscalers don't like the old composite video.
The Composite - SCART, now its working or selected correctly is much improved over the RF signal however the text still seems overly bright and blurry with 'bloom' There also appears to be lines on the screen now :/ I can live with it I guess. Id like to turn the brightness down though but oh well. This is what I'm seeing currently. The images look better in the photo than they do in real life as the text has a flicker or wobble to it that photos don't capture. Also the color is more washed out than it appears in the photo. Ahh I guess i cant just upload directly to the site eh ? Ahh well sorry but no photos then i guess
