It has just come to our attention that our game Angelic warrior Deva has an issue with the MSXVR. When you save the game to S-Ram, the whole cartridge gets corrupted. Does anybody know who to contact to see if this issue can be solved using a software update in the MSXVR?

Did they manage to solve this problem? Can’t find any information about it.

Really happy with my VR, it has become my most used machine over recent months, the machine is really versatile and I like the ease that I play, real carts, roms, or the vast amount of games on the games database.

I have a VR, it has gone back into its box. I prefer my Sony HBFX1DJ, to me the VR was an incomplete product, maybe I should try some updates to see if it is working better now. I am busy with college work at the moment.

I have to say that the hyper sports games work very well, as do most Konami games, but then other games are just not right. The HDMI output is useful. The lack of +/-12v on the cartridge port was an issue when I has an RS232 cartridge, but I no longer use that.

I have the following I/O cartridges
1. MRFSCC+SD
2. Carnivore 2
3. Playsoniqs Supersonics
Would these all work in the VR, since they act as expanded slots? Probably no need for them in the VR anyway.

I would suggest making sure that you have the latest updates on the VR as most things work well now. The mfr works OK with it, although i use a USB stick to put roms into it. I don't have any problems with the games that I use on it which includes gfx9000 games and enhanced versions of games that require a second cartridge for voice sets etc.

I have my doubts about the MFR working fine with the MSXVR.

The mfr is not perfect on the VR, just ok.

I am wondering what the current state is regarding the MSXVR platform. I do have one and remember powering it on a couple times in the past couple months and no updates were available. Not sure if development/updates stopped or if it is just in a very slow progress state. Does anyone know?
I noticed issues like the power button/power off process not really working as expected (meaning, press the button to power OFF and the machine powers OFF), overall slowness (like slow to the point it is quite noticeable), odd/weird issues with the networking (i.e., WiFi not reliable, etc.) and so on.
Are these issues fixed/solved with newer updates? When was the last update released to the machine?
Thanks all!

I have the same power and network issues. It is the reason why my MSXVR is back in its box indeed...

The most recent update is from january:

RC-741 - SYNTHESIZER [Build: 26338]

If you would like to use the developer version do the following in VR-DOS:

1.- Write user developer at the prompt and press [Enter]
2.- When the system request you the password, just press [Enter]
Now you can update the environment as usual: PKG /CLEAN /UPDATE

For powering off you can use the menu option instead of the button. Works fast. I do not have any issues with my network (WiFi or cabled). I am on the latest release.

Did you submit the problems you have on the MSXVR forum? You can find it here.

If they are not aware of the issue, they cannot solve it...
