I have some 30-40 Moonsound songs and I have the feeling that it is the whole production ever done on this sound cartridge, most of them are from 95-98 ...is there any place where to find new songs ( music disks , for instance ) Crying

Oh, there are a LOT more than that.
I have dozens of songs I wrote myself, but never released them (since they are meant to be used in games). ^^;

Anyway, most music disks are not freeware and unavailable on the internet. I bet a lot of old groups that left the MSX scene wouldn't mind declaring their stuff freeware... Someone should ask a few.

Meanwhile try to browse some of the sites in our links database. There may be some sites with more recent Moonsound tunes.

I feel like a bit of advertising now Smile since I put two of my Moonsound tunes online on my private pages (www.bifi.msxnet.org or somewhere in our links database) last year which are made (or at least finished) after 1998.

I wonder how much Moonsound music is written for games that will never be released. Crying

Personally I haven't written that much, but I know of some Xtazy-clone (dropped because it did look stupid to make another shooter for gfx9000) and some Alien Soldier-clone (6 channel 4 operator music to fit better with the graphics and overall atmosphere). Lots of music has been written for those. Evil

'De Notenkraker' did write quite some music that just doesn't sound right with our current projects ('the lost world', 'hamaraja bij nacht', and countless others ofcourse).

But we might just decide to finish some of them after all... We just have to program them, and design some levels, draw some gfx. How hard can that be? Wink

Xtazy wasn't dropped because it looked stupid to do another shooter for GFX9000.

Thanks Latok, I've overlooked this. Hmmz, some other Xtazy clone? To bad those guys didn't work together back then. Maybe something could have been finished.

sjoerd, hamaraja music is not to be used for anything, anymore. Actually, none of the content that i put on it. meaning, there is no music for your current hamaraja that comes from the jelsma camp

What kind of attitude is that? Ofcourse it's your right as an author, but it almost seems hostile! :/

So? I have just reprogrammed the game. I don't see any problem with that. And I did not state we had music for 'hamaraja bij nacht', because, in fact, we have not (yet). When we have finished the music, the game will be finished.

I didn't know exactly which material came from you or came from the Japanese. The initial goal was to use as much as possible of your content, and we used what was usable in our view. And as far as I know MSX Info-blad owns the European copyright of Hamaraja. If you have a problem, it's with them, not with me.

However, let me know which content you made, and I'll be happy to remove it from the project. If it's possible and necessary, that is. But I really don't see why you would want that. The game isn't that bad, I would put my name on it, if I could Smile

And more in spirit of the current topic: Any new Moonsound songs?
