mmm at MRC download database is CAR II, it is a BASIC's programmed game
just HOLD CTRL at boot, and make sure that is only one drive A: because it is free memory sensitive.
But I guess it does not exactly math the definition of "fancy".
pitpan - wasn't Karoshi working on a cool MSX1 racing game? Is the project on-hold or can we expect a Karoshi Racing Classic in the future?

Hum ... yeah. I think that there is a lot of Fancy FREEWARE. Now if the games are playable is another story.
Maybe I should rethink my terms , playable is not exact the same as runnable.
Wasn't F-Nano (2) free to download nowadays? Anyway, the demo version is already pretty entertaining
how can we run fnano2? i only can get this:
It seems to say something about the memory. Maybe just too little RAM?
F-nano, F-nano2 and F-nano2' need all MSX tR to run... Great games though!
One definitely worth mentioning is Lotus F3
It's a really great party game... see ie. this video of the early version... What memories, what a feeling :)
...and here is freeware clone similar to Konami's Hyper Rally:
Got this listing in ascii? Now I am curious.
This Lotus is indeed not bad game at all. Not sure why the background is that boring.

It's only 8 lines of BASIC and fits to one screen... Oh, well... People don't like these "type it yourself" listings anymore. Click here.

It's related to the 8-directional smooth scroll routine... On MSX1 if you want smooth movement there becomes other limitations.
