Mr. Ghost in Disc Station SP #2

One of the Disc Station developers tweeted the disk version Mr. Ghost is included in Disc Station Special #2 Disk 4 and can be booted with effort. There is a likely file called U0SACOM.DAT (Sacom released Mr. Ghost) along with other U0*.* files in the disk. Can anyone boot Mr. Ghost?

Disc Station discs are known to include many files that are inaccessible from the menu. If you know the other noteworthy ones please tell me.

I did it but just the main title and the BGM Test is working any try to play the game make a RESET.

Disk 5 from Disc Station Special #2 at offset 0xa0000
is the main 32kb program but I don't know who call it.

what I did is just extracted and convert it to .COM and execute it at 0x4000

i always wondered what this was. a file based dsk with some msx-dos stuff on it. i wasn't sure how official it was. turns out it is sacom's afterall.

It says there is an advertising version "a ghost version with an additional scenario with different taste" and a jukebox mode that was not announced for an unknown reason. The video which I give the link above shows the game. (Disc Station special #2-4)

I am pretty sure when translating mr ghost I found a way to directly boot it from that disk. I think it is the source for where the "mr ghost 2" as is is informally known comes from. Can't find the way though in my notes, must be in my other notes on another drive with the translation of this game...

First off the Takeru disk version (call it Disk A) aka Mr. Ghost 2 is very different from the ROM ver, it's much shorter and has Compile Randar enemies. I wonder if there was any explicit warning. I don't think the Alexito's version of the game needs to be tested for the difference from Disk A because all U0*.* files are same with Disk Station SP #2 Disk 4 except those in Disk A have extra nulls at their end. MRGHOST.COM is longer than the applicable U0.COM in Disk A but it's working fine ;) U0 must be the transcription of Yuurei, Yuu -> U + Rei -> 0. P0.COM in Disk A must be the sort of starter.
Disk A contains three files unused by the game. YUUREI.PMA is the archive of the game files albeit with different time stamps dated 1989 the year Disk Station SP #4 was published. YUREI.ISH and FZERU.ISH are the ISH archives. There used to be MSX ISH.LZH util but it is nowhere so I used LHAFORGE which was tricky because instead of opening an .ish file I had to associate it then double click. YUREI.ISH is exactly same as YUUREI.PMA. FZERU.ISH happened to be the F-ZERU racing game that must be the prequel to F-Zeru EX. If you are interested, RUN "LOAD
Storing the archives of the same game in a game disk is absurd and I suspect they might not be genuine Compile files. F-Zero Ex package looks too amateur.
