When that happens, are you playing with a setup that doesn't introduce delays? (No conversion on TV out like av to hdmi or joystick converter etc)
Played it on my SX-1Mini+ using SofaRun.
SX-1 connected to an LCD monitor over VGA, with a real joystick connected to the joystick port.
Tried it also on BlueMSX on my PC, and here it seems to happen less often than it does on the SX-1.
Haven't tried it yet on one of my real MSX machines...
I played on real MSX with an MSX joypad and also JoySNES.
File is 16k and the checksum is: 78 07 92 66 71 1E 60 42 04 80 E4 D9 5A 39 F0 D7 D9 74 AD 32
Tried BlueMSX again, but couldn't get it to fail for some reason.
Will try it this weekend on my SX1 and on a real MSX...
Tried it today (ROM flashed into a M27C512 EEprom and put onto a real cartridge board) in my Philips VG-8020 MSX1.
Couldn't get it to fail, reset the MSX several times, solid as a rock.
Did get a small glitch though when the balloon suddenly popped without touching anything. Never had that happen before...
I have my SX1Mini+ built into my Arcade cabinet, so that is the one I use most of the time since this is permanently setup in the living room.
Even though I couldn't get that one to fail on my yesterday all day long, I know for sure I had the bats issue several time in the past few months.
So I think it's some sort of timing issue that sometimes happens with the SX1 (or with SofaRun...?).
Will try it again later today or the coming week to see if it will fail...
Your ROM has the same SHA1 that we usually find. I think the issue probably comes from the OCM that does not emulate everything perfectly.

Probably...
Would be nice if the colors would be more closely to the Atari version though...
I'm colorblind, and in the MSX version the lighter ground makes it very difficult to see the scorpions.
Other than the glishes with the bats, the scorpions make me fail most of the time.
The Atari version I can play all the way to the end without loosing points, still cannot do that with the MSX version ;-)

It should be easy to change colors on MSX2. Otherwise, it may be possible to change the color of the sprite on MSX1.
If you replace 0F by 0E at 2844h in the ROM file with an Hexa editor, the scorpion becomes gray. Maybe it's more visible to you. Otherwise try to put 09.

Awesome, I will try it that !
Many thanks

The light red (09) worked best for me.
Do you also know the location of the frog color ? They could be a bit darker for me too...
Many thanks
