AFAIK, BlueMSX will work simply by copying its folder to a new HD. Problem is that savestates won't work (apparently they even include ROM path).

Hi!
I'm working on a Windows PC but I have no administator rights, so I'm not allowed to install blueMSX, openMSX and ruMSX...
So here arises my question: is it possible to make a "portable" installation for these emulators?
I'd like to put (install) them on my USB key and be able to use them on any (Windows) machine I'm going to work on.

openMSX works perfectly.. just download the zip file http://openmsx.fixato.net/ see build tracker on right side of the screen for almost real time builds.

I haven't tried openMSX lately but doesn't it write to user/AppData?

No, it doesn't. It writes to My Documents Anyway, it will work without admin rights.

I haven't tested it lately, but if you add portable=1 in the [settings] group in blueMSX.ini it may work.

Perfect! Both openMSX and blueMSX are executable from my USB key, thanks to everybody for your help
Still I'm not able to make a portable ruMSX... but I'll try to avoid this limitation.
