Oh boy such will take me ages to collect all of them.... I think i already posted the serial of the turboR once... Every once in a while when i wander on the attic of my shed i find msx stuff i don't even recall
But my question is: what's the use of this (besides just for the fun of it)?
There's, besides for the fun of it, probably not much use. But maybe, if there's enough serials, some person sees the bigger picture behind them. For example, the Philips Music Modules (NMS 1205) have a serial that starts with HK and on the module it's printed that it's made in Hong Kong. The Philips computers have a serial that starts with FF... Very curious.
Some other manufacturers seem to have an ongoing serial number, look at Sony, where I kinda get the feeling that whatever machine passed through the final stage of assembly got the next free serial... But to make sure, we need more... It might be wiki material if the code is broken
For fun and possible help,sure.

Like Meits said: for fun and in some cases maybe to estimate in which volume certain computers (or computers of one brand) were produced. To find out where the hardware was made (HK clearly being for Hong Kong indeed, anyone got a clue about FF? Or would that simply stand for something like Form Factor?) and to give all those people who liked solving the riddles behind turboR serial numbers a chance to break different codes as well.
TurboSEB: You Sony fan! You've got a nice set of professional Sony MSX stuff there!
My Sony KX14CP1: 5008484
Philips music module NMS 1205: HK008734
Philips NMS8250: FF0270147? (?= sticker damaged...)
Nice additions. Updated again.
@ BlueCrystal: Didn't add your Philips NMS8250. The serial number is not complete. Pity.
In the MSX mailing list there was a dutch member who worked at Philips. I can't remember his name. Maybe some of you know him... Is he still around MSX ? Perhaps he could provide information about this FF...
