Trilobyte member ARTRAG announced a new entry for the MSXdev'14 competition. Together with Toni Galvez (graphics, sound effects) and John Hassink (music) he will create an MSX version of Uridium, a popular science fiction side-scrolling shoot 'em up that has been available for a lot of well known 8 bit machines. Except for the MSX, but that's about to change!
Some of the intended features are smooth horizontal scrolling (50/60 FPS) at any scrolling speed, multicolor graphics and up to 64 sprites on screen. The game will work on Toshiba VDP's with reduced scroll resolution.
Curious? You can find work-in-progress videos here and here and of course you can also follow the Karoshi forums for further updates.
