I now have three MSX2 drawing/paint packages. These are Philips Video Graphics/Designer (almost the same thing), AGE5, and Paint 4. Unfortunately, I don't know how to use any of them!

AGE5: Left-click on the tool buttons to draw. Right-click on them to see options. When in draw mode, right-click to make the tool bar pop up again.

Buttons from left to right: line, paint, square, filled square, fill, circle, flip, shift, rotate, scale, magnifier, color replace (right-click to edit palette), animation editor, load/save, undo (right-click for exit to dos option).

You can also use cursor keys to move (hold shift to move fast), and F1/F2 for left/right click. When you connect a mouse after starting AGE5, press STOP to detect it.

Please can you somehow explain to me how to use the Philips MSX Designer software. Ich spreche auch Deutsch!

Gut zu wissen! Good to know! As long as we are in the forum we should keep talking english, I think.
Well, what about sending you a hardcopy of the manual? Well, I first have to scan it to PDF or something... then you can give me your mail adress, you can find my mail-adress is in my profile.

Just one problem. How can I left click or right click on any buttons without a mouse? Perhaps I can't, so in that case I'd have to buy an MSX mouse or an MSX mouse adapter for a modern mouse.

See bold underlined part above.

Although, I would recommend a mouse of course Smile.

Hey, welcome Smile. I’d love to see / hear those.

1. Disk should still work, although there are some gotchas
2. Definite recommendation
3. Loading them in an emulator and using its screenshot function works pretty well
4. Either play them on a real MSX and record them with your PC, or record them from an emulator (ymmv)

Thanks to your inspiration I managed to connect an old floppy disk drive to my pc (thank god the mainboard has an IDE port for that). After some quarrel with the power connectors I finally was able to copy most of the double-sided disks to my PCs hard drive.

*drumroll*

and here are my first contributions to the download DB:

Some artwork for some (not so famous) music disks and tools:
http://www.msx.org/downloads/copymaster-main-screen
http://www.msx.org/downloads/wizard-magical-editor-screen-0
http://www.msx.org/downloads/music-masses-intro-screen

I also uploaded the following to the download DB:
The Magical Editor: http://www.msx.org/downloads/magical-editor
Copymaster: http://www.msx.org/downloads/copymaster-copy-tools-collection
Music for the masses: http://www.msx.org/downloads/music-masses-1

Check it out, hopefully I zipped and uploaded everything correctly.
Some more music module tracks to follow. B-)

Oh, I see. So, unless approved, only I can see my uploads when I am logged in?
How long does the approval take?

I am excited like a little boy about your feedback to my music disk! Big smile

It took us a bit of time to approve the downloads and write a newspost, but here you go: http://www.msx.org/news/en/defdannys-software-treasures
