BTW, Y and P keys are probably related to "Yellow Panther".

At the beginning of the ROM there is this message:

引用:

6891 .noitcudorPrehtnaP wolleY A

That is "A Yellow Panther Production. 1986" written backwards.

So curious. I wonder it was an internal team name of SONY in those days...
Anyway that is exactly appropriate for MSX trivia! Thank you so much!!

I've been dealing with some different f1spirit.rom dumps lately. One of these dumps surprised me reading MISSION instead of GEAR on the label above the connected gear indicator, while playing.

Is there an official f1spirit.rom dump? Why "mission" ? I never realized that in the past...

Maybe has to do with manual/auto transmission ? I've just checked it with both, and my current copy says "MISSION" (instead of GEAR) no matter what.

I wonder it was caused by popular abusage among Japanese people. Some Japanese people call manual-transmission "MISSION" as improper abbreviation. They also often use the word "MISSION" for meaning "GEAR". These are obviously wrong usage but not really acknowledged as a problem. The KONAMI developer who coded the label you found, seems to be such a person.

For your information, they ridiculously call automatic-transmission "AUTO-MA". I can not sometimes follow a feel for language of Japanese ordinary people although I'm also a Japanese...

Ah, great post!
Finally I can share the dancing mouse in Sony´s HiBrid:
Connect the RL mouse to port 2 and press the second trigger while start up the programm will present you a dancing mouse. Press the first trigger to see the mouse bow to you.

Hamlet, what do you mean with "RL mouse", and which "Program" do you need to start?
I assume this only works on select Sony HitBit models, like the HB-G900 you have in the picture?

The mouse confuses. You got to press the triggers of a "Real Live" mouse device, connected to joystickport 2, during "HiBrid" start up. HiBrid was a GUI developed by Sony and delivered at least with the european HB-700 machines (maybe others, too). It needs 256kB of RAM, also works on my 8280 with a HBM-512 mapped memory expansion.
And thanks for the F1-video Guillian!
