I am looking for MSX 2 Sanyo-PHC-23J (I know it have Japanese characters) but I want it in English (enter MSX basic in English language), play games in English, etc. I want to buy this Sanyo_PHC-23J wavy MSX.

except for some games which do a region check it'll work just the same as any non japanese machine. the japanese part is extra, not default. the mentioned game issue is that a lot of konami games check the region of the machine and will therefore alter the language. there are workarounds for that.

There's a long discussion here: https://www.msx.org/forum/msx-talk/software-and-gaming/how-c... . You may be able to pull this off with MegaFlashROM (I haven't tested yet, but it does have a ton of other options and will likely have this as well).

That said, the biggest issue here is the games that were never released outside Japan, since overwhelming majority of Konami's dual-release (Euro/Japan) library is in English (e.g. "Goonies"), or doesn't require understanding of Japanese - even if it contains Japanese characters (e.g. "Vampire Killer"'s title screen). "Metal Gear" comes to mind, but that game has 2 different versions, and the Euro version runs in English even on Japanese machines.

As for games that were never meant to be released outside Japan and have no English translation? The MSX community has done an excellent job of translating practically everything, from Hi no Tori to Metal Gear 2, SD Snatcher, etc etc. The patched games always run in English on every machine, so just hunt down the patches - here's one https://www.msx.org/news/en/firebird-english-translation

You're welcome. Coming across a particular MSX machine rarely happens (I'm still looking for an NTSC Yamaha), but eBay has lots of other machines which work just as well - if not better. Sony and Panasonic are particularly good machines and frequently appear on eBay.

problem though 98% of the computers work 100% except for one single key in the keyboard that is constantly pressed. is there anyway I can repair this keyboard or what advice do you have?

The problem is...I REALLY DO NOT WANT ANY OTHER MODEL BUT THIS ONE....THE SEXINESS OF THIS MODEL IS SUPERB!

Do you think it is a lose ribbon that if I open the case and put the ribbon back inside better it will work better?

There could be too much dust in the keyboard, liquid in the keys or on the membranes. Surely it can't be fixed with little time, otherwise the seller would have done it already.
Especially if you ask such questions, It would probably be better to ask someone who is familiar with such repairs.
Or wait a little longer, your dream MSX will surely soon be offered in a working condition.

A constantly pressed key is not due to a brake in a membrane but a short cut. First place to look is right underneath the key. It might physically be pressed because of a worn out spring or there might be something conducting between the key and the membrane. If it was due to the membrane, some other keys would have a problem as well.
