This drive looks like close the old Sony drives (the 3.5" full-height ones), if so, they all suffer of stuck mechanisms due solidified grease. It's just a matter of thoroughly clean the sticky old grease and lube ir again.
Can you post a photo of the disassembled disk drive (specially with sides visible) to check its model and mechanism exactly?
the mechanical side was cleaned, but the issue is about the track zero optical sensor.... the drive do not detect the track zero and try several time....
In my experience, the most problems in FDD drives come from:
- Bad electrolytic caps (replace with new ones or with ceramic ones)
- Bad, missing or rotten drive belts
- Dirty mechanics and optics, dead or dirty censors
- Dead heads or broken head cables
- Foreign objects inside drives
- Wrong track 0 alignment
As Alexey suggests, there can be a lot of issues; but if you hear repeated head banging maybe you're right and you've a track 0 alignment issue. I've never seen one of this drives with this kind of problem so I can't offer a solution.
About replacing, it's not hard as probably it has a 34-pin Shugart connector. The old Sony full height drives (the one in the HBD50 it's not really a full height drive) have a 26pin connector. There're tutorials to adapt a PC drive for its use with a Shugart connector, basically you need (ideally) a floppy capable of provide the READY signal and switchable to Drive A: instead the standard PC, Drive B:
Atari drives are usually Epson and these drives can swap A:/B: with a jumper but they don't have the RDY signal; so they're not easily adapted. Here's a nice page with some info about different drive models and how to adapt them to an Amiga, that in some way could be the same from a MSX machine, if you can adapt it to the Commodore machine, you can use it for an MSX.
Of course you can also mount a Gotek, not too vintage; but extremely useful and easier to replace!
Then you best also update the ROM in the interface cartridge. I may have a revised Philips VG8235 drive in a short time, it has a different connector but all the signals are the same so you could build an adapter. Also I am not sure if the front panel in the HBD-50 is removable (the part from the drive) because the eject button location is different for that drive.

Based on what Jipe is saying and the info in the service manual, the EXT DRIVE seems to be a shugart compatible connector; so most probably yes, a Gotek could be connected externally. No idea about the internal drive, right now I'm not sure if it's a standard drive mechanism or a Sony propietary.
