Today, Juha Riihimäki released a new version of his popular fMSX emulator for Nokia Series 60 phones, such as the Nokia N-Gage, 3650, 6600 and 7650. As of now, 2 versions of the emulator are available. The 0.97a version is optimized for Symbian 6.1 OS based phones (e.g. Nokia 3650, 7650) but also works on Symbian 7.0s OS based phones (e.g. Nokia 6600). For phones with this new Symbian 7.0s OS though, JR created a 0.97b version. This version doesn't work on older Symbian 6.1 OS based phones.
Changes since the previous version 0.96 are:
- Created separate a and b version of the emulator
- Completely new user interface
- Performance increased, especially for non-rotated fast and raw rendering modes
