Hopefully I'll be able to attend. Smile Contrary to Zett's opinion, I like having events in Amsterdam, especially close to the Central Station. Smile

Amsterdam seems fine to me. Simply get off the train. Have some beer. Share some asm wisdom. Have some more beer. Roll back on the train. Job well done. Wink

All those who didn't visit, missed out on a cosy atmosphere, lovely drinks and a nice preview of MoonSound Music Studio and pseudoMSX; both of which seem to be coming along quite nicely.
I was especially impressed by some of the more unique features of pseudoMSX such as the already excellent GFX9000 support and things like always showing the correct number of lines and having the correct aspect ratio.

You can also see that pseudoMSX is actually a non-official openMSX variant, so we can expect similar missing features (the most obvious is the absent GUI).

Not evident to see that on Fixato's pictures, but in this case, pseudoMSX will be better than openMSX, at least for the end-user comfort. It's too early to compare with blueMSX GUI, I will need to make a deep comparison.

I have a feeling that pseudoMSX will become especially popular with developers due to its built-in debugger widgets.
The GUI perhaps isn't very complete yet, but basic functionality such as cartridge and disk selection was already available through the menubar, and I believe machine selection as well.
If I recall correctly the console was no longer an overlay on the MSX screen, but a separate widget attached to the bottom of the MSX window with full copy/paste support. Free scaling support contrary to fixed number scaling is also quite a nice feature we saw demoed.

Though I haven't seen it in action, GuyveR800 explained that video recording would record the actual graphics as displayed, including any filters that might be active such as scanlines. As a Let's Play'er I am especially interested in seeing more of this, as well as what kind of performance boost pseudoMSX will bring through its different approach to recording.

I might not remember all the details, but I am definitely interested in seeing more of the development of pseudoMSX, especially if/when it will build on Mac OS X and/or Windows.

Couldn't make it as I was celebrating my own birthday with my family, but I have to say that pseudoMSX looks quite promising so far. Looking forward to the first public release. Might even inspire me to do a good old MSX Emulator Comparison once again (how many times have I said that already? Tongue)

Fixato : thanks for the details. Besides the graphical and GFX9000 improvements, it looks like pseudoMSX interface will be in an intermediate status between blueMSX (complete GUI + plugins including debugger and trainer) and openMSX (no any GUI, limited Catapult launcher, too many overlays).
So, I think many openMSX users will switch to pseudoMSX. It's difficult to make a similar prediction for blueMSX users, as blueMSX has a complete GUI without having GFX9000 support and some of the announced improvements. I think also that the quality of the sound emulation, in its final result for the ears, can be important for people who like to use blueMSX.
