MCWF back on track!

MSX Club West-Friesland (MCWF) is one of the few MSX clubs left in The Netherlands. For many years, they organised clubmeetings in Zwaag, near Hoorn. On the 11th of september 2003, we reported about circumstances which made the club to decide to cancel the planned meetings for the rest of that year. Another problem was the demise of the msx2.com domain on which the MCWF website was hosted. From that moment on, MCWF became less easy to contact.

In the past months, there seemed to have been a complete silence around MCWF. We can now reveal that the people behind MCWF have been very busy to get the club and all its activities back on track. And they succeeded in doing so!

On the 22nd of may 2004, the MCWF will organize the first of a serie of new MSX clubmeetings. They will be held in 'Buurtcentrum Risdam' in Hoorn, Scheerder 1. Indeed, a new location. In these MCWF headquarters, the club has 120 square metres to its disposal. The entry fee for an MCWF Clubmeeting is € 3,00. A 2nd meeting will be organized on the 2nd of october 2004. This meeting will be combined with a large MSX auction.

The club is aware of the fact that the link with its visitors has weakened over the last months, due to the apparent silence. Therefor, the people behind the club want to hear from you, potential visitor of their meetings! If you're happy with the new clubmeetings, please let them know. If you're planning to visit an upcoming meeting, please tell them. If you're able and willing to tell something about your MSX activities over the last months on a meeting, please send MCWF an e-mail. They really want to know where they're standing at the moment and how the regular Dutch MSX-er feels about the new MCWF activities.

Next to the upcoming meetings, MCWF also has their website up and running again. You can visit it right here. There will be constant updates, so keep your eyes on their page. Unfortunately only in Dutch.

Furthermore, MCWF has always published a clubmagazine and they're planning to release the next issue on the 22nd of may 2004. This magazine will be published on paper, but is also available as a PDF-file, which can be downloaded from their website. The magazine needs interesting content, of course. That's why MCWF also asks you to write some interesting things that can be published in their clubmagazine.

Last but not least, MCWF is the place for all your MSX repairs, cables, second handed MSX gear and more. Bas Kornalijnslijper is no longer the chairman of the club, but he will take care of this part of the club activities.
