On the ASCII MSX Magazine website interesting information on the upcoming MSX Magazine Festival can be found. During this day both the 20th anniversary of MSX and the release of MSX Magazine 2 will be celebrated. Here is a list of all the activities that are planned during the event, more might be added in the future:

  • A lecture from Kazuhiko Nishi on the future of MSX. The first 300 people to visit the lecture room will get a free limited edition MSX T-Shirt!
  • All visitors will get a free MSX Magazine cover.
  • Demonstration of the 20th anniversary MSXPC
  • Display of all MSX Magazines ever released
  • MSX Game Reader demonstration and reservations. Already, more than 2000 Game Readers were pre-ordered at ASCII Store
  • A talkshow with chief editor Taguchi and cover illustrator Ono
  • Demonstration of MSXPLAYer on various platforms like PocketPC, SIG, Marion 3 etc.
  • An overview of many MSX computers on display
  • A special 2004 MSX Calender, designed by Kazuoki Ono, will be sold
  • The winners of the MSX BASIC Programming contest will be announced and receive their prizes
  • You can take a funny picture of your face on the MSX Magazine cover
  • After 10 years of silence, will a new commercial MSX game be released????
  • For those who missed it: MSX Magazine 1 is back in print and on sale
  • A game competition with an interesting prize

Also, many active Japanese MSX groups will be around to show their latest products. The following list is unofficial, so some names might be incorrect or missing, but here is the list of standholders as we know it:

  • BEEPBOY
  • BX Projects
  • Moosoft
  • MSX Resource Center foundation
  • RetroPC foundation
  • Rich research
  • Tako System
  • TeamPlus
  • Primitive Sound
  • Sunrise Japan (Kuniji Ikeda)
  • Syntax
  • Wiz

Yes, you have read it right: the MSX Resource Center will have a stand on the MSX Magazine Festival, demonstrating and promoting European MSX products and (of course) the MSX Resource Center itself. Needless to say we will also make a report and photo-shoot of the event and the entire trip to Japan!

So that's what we're doing with all your donations, making trips to Japan Smile Seriously, we assure you that donations to the MSX Resource Center will only be used for paying the hosting bills and other small things. Trips like these are paid with private money from the people behind the MSX Resource Center.

I'm sure they're interested, especially if the person(s) behind MicroWAVer would help finance snout's trip Wink Who knows, if enough people donate some money he might even have enough money to buy a returnticket Wink

After 10 years of silence, will a new commercial MSX game be released????

If it will be Konami's RC770 I pay 300 euros for it.
And 300 euros more if it's from Kojima Wink

There is only little I can take with me, I probably will take a lot of software with me on CompactFlash like Meridian, Vscreen etc. If you have suggestions: let me know. I think it won't be possible for me to demonstrate MicroWAVer on the fair, though...
