A retrocomputing lover from the Netherlands, POKE -1.170, has started an airwaves initiative in which he draws attention to several chiptune and mod composer by dedicating an on-line radio show to them. These shows are also aired on the local radiostation Enschede FM, supported by Radiokunst. The fist show is about the Amiga composer Nuke/Spaceman. Future shows about Turrican and other retro platforms are already announced.

As the nickname POKE -1,170 and the mentioning of MSX and Konami SCC in this first show clearly indicate, the creator of the show knows what MSX is about, so perhaps we might see some shows about MSX computers in the near future as well. The show has been added to the list of nominees for the MSX in the Media Challenge.

Does this guy have a homepage? In any case, I hope you'll keep us updated when he releases other editions.

Indeed yeah,I will devote one episode to MSX only. Perhaps it would be cool to put a top 20 list of tracks here,SCC and PSG only pleez (moonsound is a bit too high tech), maybe do a poll of favourite gamesmusic on the msx and I will play it in dedicate it to all that keep the msx running Smile next episode is this sunday at 24:00,where it will also be online for a week, perhaps 2.This episode is about chris huelsbeck...mainly amiga mods, but also some c64 sids...Episode 3 is about turrican 2 & 3,but also some zx spectrum, gameboy and atari ST versions of the game. And an msx KSS cover yeeha !

These were the nominees for the "Best MSX game song ever" MRC mega poll:

By the way, is MSX-Music (FM-PAC) too advanced as well? It is used very often in MSX2 games, and produces great sound. Many of the greatest MSX soundtracks (and amateur songs) have been produced for it.

haha yeah fm pac counts as well I'd say ^_^ never had one though...I do have a music module from philips too, think that's been used too in tracker stuff as well...But,as I said,19th of decmeber, msx only...looking for cool tracks on MSX,old games music and contemporary non moonsound stuff Smile electroy,electronic,techno,d&b.... would be cool to contribute to the show,I will play it !!!

wondering if people make d&b or electro on their msx-es...I know people do on the gameboy...one guy called bitshifter does awesome stuff on it, and a guy called xik... http://www.wayfar.net or http://www.wayfar.net/0x000000_mp3.php it sounds like techno in nemesis style...the melodies.... so, any msx music around like this as well?

You should look around on old music disks a bit... The Impact stuff (they were considered the best by many), Fuzzy Logic's Muzax series, and there were much much more. The Music Module was used on most of them (tho' I think Muzax was Music Module (MSX-Audio) + FM-PAC (MSX-Music) 'stereo').

Dunno which are d&b or techno, but... well Smile. It's a start.

and is a music module swappable for an scc cart+ switch? would that be a fair deal or not? (general question)...and who owns a zemmina or zemmix msx?
