It seems that 3D isometric games are experiencing a rebirth with the MSX2 remakes. Knight Lore, Alien 8, La Abadía del Crimen, Batman and now Head Over Heels is being developed by FX Software again. There are no more details, just a few screenshots showing a great work behind but we are sure it will be a reality soon.

It's really great that we get proper remakes of these classic ZX spectrum ports, but how about selecting next target a game that has not been seen on MSX before?... such as Spindizzy.

I'm not a fan of this red screen. Except this detail the game looks great. Cool

The graphics remind me of commander keen 1,2 and 3 nice colours, excellent detail with the feel of the good old EGA days. The game looks very variated in theme. Modern spacestation settings and medieval chambers interresting. The red intro screen doesn't fit with the rest of the game though. It kinda hurts to the eyes. But then on the other hand. How often do you get to see that screen. My feeling says this game will be great unless the makers screw up with the gameplay and controls. GJ guys Smile

The red of Amstrad CPC version is darker and the characters have only one color. It's better.

Give the guys a break, even the speccy version had the red menu screen.

Your port is beautiful, and it was an excellent choice for a game to port to MSX2. I'm eagerly awaiting for it to be finished.

BTW, where can I get the Batman for MSX2? I loved that game too.

Red, pink, orange, purple... Who cares. Big hurra for the people involved! I trust in their coloring decisions!

Looks very good once again! Smile Keep up the good job!

By the way, when there will be the second batch of Batman cartridges? Smile

Nyyrikki´s suggestion Spindizzy is a good choice. Smile Or Gyroscope or Marble Madness from the same marble game genre. I love Gyroscope´s music! Though I would like to see Gyroscope and Marble Madness and Spindizzy on MSX1 too! Wink

For some reason, I already liked the idea of isometric 3D, but never really got much into any such game...

Except Head over Heels, that is (on C64), so nice to see the best of its kind get fancy graphics treatment :-)

(never played Batman back then, as that version was never ported to C64 afaik, so can't comment)

As for Spindizzy, that's also nice game, although, how to put it nicely... "Very overwhelming". It's nice to start playing, try finding some nice place, do some nice jumps (often leading to death) and eventually run out of time. But even the thought of completing it without any cheats...

On the other hand, I guess graphically MSX2(+) might be able to do Spindizzy Worlds too (which originated on Amiga, I think). Scrolling might be problematic though...
