Fabio Albergaria, otherwise known as only_69, released a great number of new maps on his website. These maps fill a true niche in the MSX scene, very helpful for gamers as well as gamedevelopers. An incredible amount of work was done for all these maps, which also include hints for various hidden spots, hidden weapons, demos and everything else you could ever need. If you want to show only_69 your respect or have requests for new maps, you're welcomed to do so here! Happy gaming/studying!

It's the diff between writing one myself or C/P'ing something submitted.. in this case I wrote the text myself. Technicaly (but that's an internal/technical MRC thing) I'm automatically the "submitted-by" when I write the newspost from scratch.

Maybe next time I manage to get those big spaces in the MRC frontpage. Crying

I cannot compete with the msx on a chip. Crying

But the next update will be bigger than this one. I will be out for sometime preparing this new release. LOL!

mars2k: perhaps it's a bug on our side, but as far as I know we have not received your news submit. I'll check things out @ MRC code tomorrow. Are you sure you did not receive an error or unusual page whilst submitting the news?

news submit feature seems to be working just fine. It sends the submit both by mail directly to me (which I did not receive) and then inserts it into the database (which wasn't done either). You sure you posted the 'official' prop..err...news to the MRC news submit? Tongue

Other than that: be gentle to Wolf_, he's new to the MRC newsposting stuff. ^_^

Strange indeed, but it's not the first time that this problem happens. I remember other news submitted by me (with the confirmation page on the screen) and posted by a MRC team member, with source the MRC forum for example.

That's maybe a problem with my computer. I've disabled the google-analytics script by using NoScript and added the AdBlock Plus extension of Firefox.

No problem with Wolf ... as you can see, I try to see where is the problem.Wink

I have to say, those maps together with Generation MSX and those "endings" on vgmuseum make a heck of a good game resource. Now, where's that "cheat" galore website again? (peek, pokes and other nifty tricks )

All and all, gotta love them maps. Again, nice work and keep it up. Yer getting the "msx legend" status, if it were up to me. but it ain't so too bad. Tongue

Hey people, tks for the feedback. The new update is already being prepared. 3 maps are already done. This will be a secret release, just as bluemsx one Tongue You will see lots of news in the next update, which I wish it will not come out together with the msx on a chip.

Nah, that was related to the size of the newspost. It was a choice to not list all the games in the newspost, as a result it didn't make enough characters to get a fullwidth newspost. Otherwise it'd simply kicked down the OCM.. Tongue It's about finding a balance, when some new app is out you also don't go listing *all* the features. Additionally, in a period with only big news, a smallsize newspost stays on the FP much longer, so if you really want to have a perfect timing then have a major newspost in a time when there's not much big news or a little newspost when there's not much 'news with a few chars'. Aaaaaaaaanyway .. old cows for now. Tongue (next time less games at once perhaps?)

Oh, and are you going to do anything with the color thing I proposed? ^^

Wolf,

The four maps I have already prepared are MSX1 colors (yes, now they are four), but I am not getting my hands in the previous ones. In case you wish to make the corrections and send to me do be released together with the next update, it is fine to me (indeed, I would really appreciate).

Let me get back to work (the real one).

Bye,

Ehmmm .... 14 maps of MSX games on MSX Solutions .... or 14 MSX games re-released by Woomb, I don't see where is the difference : in both cases, a list of 14 games that does not "make enough characters to get a fullwidth newspost"

That's because Latok made that post, and I made this solutions newspost.

If I'd mentioned all the 14 map'ed games it would've been a wide post as well, but since they've already been mentioned in the forum I was like 'oh heck, ppl will get the point'. Note that I can't see the size of a newspost while typing.

Also note, wide vs narrow doesn't make one newspost less important than the other.. it's just the amount of text that differs. As far as I'm concerned: all these maps are really great, I only chose not to list all the games again, that's all. But, if I can make you happy with wide newsposts, then the next solutions newspost will be wide again.. Tongue

Suggestion : you can use <center> ..... </center> for lists .... see my post about Woomb on Passion MSX (the new version of MSX Café) : http://www.passionmsx.org

Also note, wide vs narrow doesn't make one newspost less important than the other.. it's just the amount of text that differs.I recall having a time when 'small news' was longer on the frontpage than 'big news'. This has of course to do with the amounts of big news announced and the fact that the frontpage contains more small newsposts than large ones.Suggestion : you can use <center> ..... </center> for lists .... see my post about Woomb on Passion MSX (the new version of MSX Café) : www.passionmsx.orgWouldn't be a good thing I guess. Personally, I think a non-left-aligned list looks ugly, especially when all list bullets aren't on the same column.
