The possibility of loading tapes in MSXturboR computers has been discussed for ages. As MSXturboR computers don't have a cassette connector it was said that Panasonic FS-A1ST and Panasonic FS-A1GT computers weren't fully MSX compliant. Now Martos has created a program that makes possible to load tapes in MSXturboR computers through the PCM input connector. By now the program is only available in the download section of HispaMSX.

I'm not sure if this post is part of the Challenges news topic... but, it's cool to see the MSXturboR being able to load data from cassette.

Alive and kicking. He has coded this utility -without owning a turboR- in few days...

Cool software and cool to hear from Martos again... I tried to solve this problem once also, but I always ended up to "Device I/O error" in middle of loading. I think, one of the reasons was really bad, non MSX cassette player I used. That didn't even play music tapes so well, that you could really listen them... (Very much noice and tape slowing down each round)

Can someone help me to get this software? I only get "Disculpa, este Módulo no está Activo!"

And according to Martos the program also records through the earphone connector of the TV (!).

BTW, could Martos or somebody else put TRCAS outside HispaMSX? There's a lot of people not subscribed to HispaMSX.

Be aware that TRCAS is still under development! I own just a normal MSX2, so I rely on test reports from turbo R users. By now I've been reported it succeeded in loading ONE tape game and failed with some others, but the tape was in bad condition. It would be an excellent test to load a game in another machine, and then use the same tape and cassete reader with the turbo R.

As for recording, just wait for next release in a few days... this one hangs up miserably X-)

try CLOAD or something and use the mic input of the turboR sampler... That's what I understood from the newspost.

New version of TRCAS (sent by Martos today to HispaMSX) here.

Solved a minor bug in the routines to save data.

...but still I don't know how to use it for loading commercial games... (I.e.: not saved with CSAVE...)

Try BLOAD"CAS:",R or LOAD"CAS:". It should work.

by the way: still bad luck if you own a Panasonic FS-A1WSX e.g. Sad (No cassetteport, no mic in.)
