Alex Wulms has released the MODplayer for MSX turboR which he released as Xelasoft in the mid 1990s. The player is capable of playing MODfiles in mono on PCM, but also can use the DAC of one (or even two) Philips Music Modules, resulting in stereo replay.

Very nice.
Maybe, I will need a Turbo R to play ...

This program is cool now, but imagine how cool it was when it was first released! Smile

There were already some MODplayers available for Moonsound, which do not require turboR. Even an 8-channel version, by Yobi, AFAIK.

Nah man, this prog far predates the whole MoonSound. Apart from that, playing mods on a MoonSound is a joke compared to playing them on a Turbo-R. The MoonSound can pretty much do anything the MOD format specifies, while MODPLAY has to mix four PCM channels in real-time!

I know, I know, but this means that we could play MODs much earlier than today, using freeware Smile
