Have you checked the info from STIL I posted as well? 'The Turk' matches more closely with Koenig's Post Horn Gallop (@0:16 and onwards).

And I'm not sure about the Underdog reference (nor the Carmichael reference (with some imagination sure)) And the Bronski Beat ref. I'm not 100% sure about either (wouldn't be surprised if it was inspired by that however).

Note that in the C64 version the lobby tune has a 2nd part to it.

Hi ren,
1. "Koenigs Post horn gallop" comes much nearer than the "cavalry" reference. will change that!
2. hmm, for me, the "underdog" reference is one of the clearer ones... BUT! the Carmichael reference refers to the same tune(s)! and it has definetly the right tones in it, played slower. And: there is this obvious similarity in the name of the song and the game.... so I also would prefer Carmichael before "Underdog"!
3. I have to check for myself the following references, haven't heard them yet: Living on the ceiling/Blancmange.
4. Did not find the "Fade to grey" like tune in the MSX version. I think it was dismissed for copyright reasons, like the "Nena" tune ... what do you think?
5. yeah, the Bronski Beat is also a very doubtful one, agreed. leave it or delete it?

@ren: For easier identification and comparison of MSX and C64 tunes I added links to the YouTube longplays of each version, including jump marks to the specific mini-game / tune. Sadly, the Wiki link function does not support the YT jump mark format, see my request here.
But it works when you rightclick the link and open it in a new browser window (NOT tab!).

Ah yes, wow, quite some work? People can compare gameplay as well now

I was thinking myself of linking the (sub)tunes in the first table to the actual .sid subtune somehow. There are various web SID players available, should be possible to set something up for LJ / subtune linking.

I think it's fine to leave the uncertain/debatable references.
