Ok, I've scanned almost all the MSX Might&Magic Book II stuff I have (world map, disks and owner's card) in high-res so that you can print posters of it. You can download them here. Let me know when your download is finished, that file is about 300MB!
The world map is indeed a bit different from the PC versions (fonts are white on black instead of black on white). Note sure if the credit-card like "owner's card" was available on other platforms, anyway it's cool :)
Hey Louthrax, that´s great. I mean gigantic great. Best is yet to come. I received a HP DIN A1 printer trhis afternoon, so this will be my first testimonial. Thank you sir!
What a nice set up. I used to buy Infocom adventures that time, because there was a lot of items packed in. I remember The Hitchhickers Guide, which includes a microscopic spacefleet, black sunglasses and no tea.
After that my friend bored us with M&M those days. I wanted to see MSX2 action games and not a status screen. My first JRPG was Y´s, which was of course also written in japanese. I should give M&M a try now. Now that I can consult the map it will be easy.
BTW I meet MI-CHI last sunday. We´d talked the whole afternoon and played Super Laydock together. I enjoyed really much and hope to see him again soon.
Best thing when you get older is that there is a past you can talk about.
Looking forward to see your printed result
Ah, the Infocom games, those were so absurd, crazy and funny. I remember playing them with an english dictionary by my side (so MSX helped me to have good notes in English at the time!). Do you still have the goodies from the Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy ?
I was very impressed by the "MiChi demo", I only knew he was German. Do you know if he's still active with MSX? I do not remember seeing him on the forum?
Michael quit with MSX years ago, but maybe I reinfected him last weekend.
The only things are left from my HGTTG package are the disk, box, no tea and the microscopic spacefleet. Wait, there is some fluff in my pocket!
Great to hear about Mi-Chi, hamlet!
I've been talking with Loek via facebook. He recovered all issues from the attic (there were 10, apparently). We have plans to scan them so they can be put online (together with MSX-Kompas)
MSX-Kompas was never recovered/preserved I think?
