As some of you may know, I make msx music under the name poke-1,170.
I was asked to do live visuals for the Lowlands Festival in the Netherlands, one of the biggest music festivals we have here.
They asked me to bring my own music, so I decided that this was a good opportunity to play msx music.
I even had some youngsters dancing to my set, so all hope is not lost for mankind

hehe well I made the mix of the tracks at home, so I ended up playing an mp3. I was doing visuals on 2 amiga 1200's, wouldn't have been able to do both at the same time, so
MSX music with Amiga visuals; I guess thst wouldn't have gone down well in the old days

I never really checked out your music before, but I'm hearing some pretty nice bits there, kinda impressed really
Hard to believe it's all(?) coming from MSX HW (MSX-Audio/Music).
There's a (PC) mixing/mastering process involved right? And some stuff seems impossible w/ lo-res 8-bit samples? (e.g. the fat kick drums). And how about the (sub)bass track 3? Track is pretty legit I must say, and pretty nice trip following there! Like 15:30 great tribal, then flowing into some nice bass stuff, and then that pizzicato(?) synth + synths accompanying sounding legit 'n stuff
Checked your EP & Album as well. Definitely recognizing some (early) Autechre/Plaid style first tracks o/t album there

it all is, every track is a moonblaster 2.1 modfile. but you're right, I recorded every channel separately and added slight reverb, and indeed EQ on every channel, and mastering.
Definitely recognizing some (early) Autechre/Plaid style first tracks o/t album there
Bingo someone spotted my main musical inspirations haha. Definitely a huge autechre fan, in fact I did a set with early autechre remixes the day after at lowlands.

Well, what do you know, me and ceephax actually do shows together now haha. We played a gig in Lyon, and one at Dour festival in Belgium recently. He's such a nice fella, and he makes his own amiga stuff as well, so he's sent me a lot of his amiga animations and other stuff, and I mix that live with my own. I know dave tipper, one of his last albums was very nice P.s. there's a guy called Ochre who's an electronic musician who mastered one of my EP's (the cryptochrome one)

hehe yeah agreed well not that much I can do live, except load a modfile and press play haha. I did veejay at that... what was it again, mrc 10 year party in Amsterdam. Which was sorta fun haha
