MSXdev23 #04 Pearl Rain

In Pearl Rain, you're seeking to find immense wealth and divine knowledge. In order to accumulate this, you have traveled to a sacred location where pearls fall from the sky, leaving them for you to collect.

Patrik's Retro Tech surprises us with his colorful puzzle game in which you are to shove pearls around, and also blow up some walls here and there, all while listening to some smashing PSG tunes.

Any chance to get an update with different shapes for the items (such as fruits or Columns' gems)?
I'm colourblind and colour 13 doesn't stand out from neither colour 4 nor 9. For me, the game is almost like the monochrome screenshot from the PDF :/ Shapes would make the game playable

It's less like pearls with signs in the middle. The title would no longer make sense if it weren't pearls anymore.

Maybe make it an option to add these shapes in the middle of the pearl, maybe by pressing a key or something? This way you can keep it like it is for non-colorblind people :)

I liked this game a lot! The graphics are nice and the music is excellent. Some sound effects would go a long way in making it feel a little bit more polished. As @theNestruo said, contrast could be improved, maybe by adding some texture to the pearls, and a different palette for MSX2 could also be useful. Also, this is not a dealbreaker to me, but sometimes I confuse the black cursor with the black bricks. I don't know if this is caused by some sight limitation I might have, though (I've had cataract surgery and my intraocular lenses sometimes play tricks with high contrast).

EDIT: I found it a bit better looking with the emulator in MSX2 mode, except for the cyan pearl which doesn't stand out much from the field's background color.
